What is the name of your state? ****LAND
I HAVE BEEN GOING INTO MARSHALLS SISTER CO. OF TJMAXX AND HAD A COULPLE OF INCIDENTS WITH SOME OF THE MANAGEMENT. I AM VERY UPSET, I SHOP HERE ALMOST EVERY WEEK. I SPEND GOOD MONEY HERE AND TO GET THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT IS JUST SICKENING. WHILE THIS STORE JUST OPENED THREE OR FOUR MONTHS AGO AND I WE MY CHILDREN AND I WERE SHOPPING LOOKING AT PERFUMES, AND SMELLING THE FRAGRANCES WHEN ONE OF MY CHILDREN OBSERVED A “MALE” LOOKING AT US WHILE WE SPOKE AMONG US, HE KEPT LOOKING AND WALKING AROUND AND LOOKING. I THOUGHT THAT WAS VERY RUDE AND SHOOED HIM AWAY. LATER I HAD ALTERCATIONS WITH A “ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER” OVER THE WAY SHE TALKED TO ME REGARDING ASKING FOR A DISCOUNT, SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT AND POINTED OUT WHEN I AM IN THE STORE. I HAVE HAD VERBAL ARGUMENTS WITH THIS SO CALLED MANAGER REGARDING HER HARASSING WAYS. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER I AM BRINGING A ITEM BACK WITH OUR WITHOUT A RECEIPT OR WHAT I PURCHASED THE RETURNED ITEMS WITH I SHOULD NOT BE TARGETED OR STEREOTYPED AS A SHOPLIFTER OR BE LOOKED AS IF I MAY BE ONE. I HAVE A GOOD PAYING JOB, I WORK FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND HAVE NOT NEEDS TO DO ANY OF THAT. PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN SUE THIS COMPANY FOR SLANDER, HARASSMENT, DEFAMATION OR WHAT IS IT CALLED AND WHAT STEPS CAN I TAKE WITHOUT A LAWYER.

Harrasment In Department Store

Have Been Going Into Marshalls Sister Co. Of Tjmaxx And Had A Coulple Of Incidents With Some Of The Management. I Am Very Upset, I Shop Here Almost Every Week. I Spend Good Money Here And To Get This Type Of Treatment Is Just Sickening. While This Store Just Opened Three Or Four Months Ago And I We My Children And I Were Shopping Looking At Perfumes, And Smelling The Fragrances When One Of My Children Observed A “male” Looking At Us While We Spoke Among Us, He Kept Looking And Walking Around And Looking. I Thought That Was Very Rude And Shooed Him Away. Later I Had Altercations With A “assistant Store Manager” Over The Way She Talked To Me Regarding Asking For A Discount, Since Then I Have Been Looked At And Pointed Out When I Am In The Store. I Have Had Verbal Arguments With This So Called Manager Regarding Her Harassing Ways. Regardless Of Whether I Am Bringing A Item Back With Our Without A Receipt Or What I Purchased The Returned Items With I Should Not Be Targeted Or Stereotyped As A Shoplifter Or Be Looked As If I May Be One. I Have A Good Paying Job, I Work For The Federal Government And Have Not Needs To Do Any Of That. Please Tell Me How I Can Sue This Company For Slander, Harassment, Defamation Or What Is It Called And What Steps Can I Take Without A Lawyer.

I Am Not Sure, What Policy You Are Talking About, And Sorry For The Multiple Postings, I Was Trying To Post When I Got And Error Message And Posted Mulitples. Did Not Think That Was Going To Happen. Can Someone Just Tell Me What Is The Best Way Of Handleing This. Thanks

The guy was looking in your direction while shopping. Maybe he thought you were pretty! :)

It is not against the Law to look at people.

Maybe the store managers "look" at you when you come into the store because of your hostile better than thou attitude with their employees.

It is not against the law to dislike someone!! Maybe they dislike you just as you obviously do them!
How do you know they are looking at you...Unless you are also looking at them?

Since you are "well to do"...you shouldn't need the bargains or the aggravation....therefore....simply choose another store to spend your time and money.....problem solved! :)

Stop lying, stating that you work for the government. Collecting welfare checks does not qualify as "working for the government"!!!

well, if you have SUCH a problem with shopping there, WHY GO THERE?
this problem could be resolved if you just opted for another store.
you can't sue them based on anything.
you obviously havent done your research, and thats the FIRST step.
secondly, you have no basis on them slandering you... because you simply DO NOT KNOW if they have or have not. For all you know, they were just staring, but obviously YOU had to have been staring back.
unless you have more credible evidence, your gonna get nowhere fast.
like i said, DO YOUR RESEARCH, and then, MAYBE, you have something.

I have shopped in both Marshalls and T J Maxx and never had a problem. In fact, it you shop there frequently, they should know you by now. Maybe they do and that is the problem. The rules of the forum ask that you not post in all caps, in addition, your use of language and grammer make you appear, uneducated rather than a government employee. Perhaps they have a WalMart near you, they treat shoplifters differently and have everything on tape so you don't have the floor walker watching you so openly. Happy holiday shopping ;)
