What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IN
So I found a van I really liked and the dealer talked me into putting 300usd down (non-refundable he says)until my personal financing got approved as he does not finance vehicles. A few days later my bank tells me the title is invalid, I tell the dealer and he plays dumb so I drive 70 miles to where the vehicle is and find the vin numbers. I show him the title is wrong as it is one letter off (a 2 instead of what should be a Z). I emailed 3 vin photos to the auction he bought the vehicle from. So we get the new title 2 weeks later and now my bank is telling me they will not finace because the van is too old (1995). This past month the dealer has still been advertising the vehicle. Seeing that he can't or won't finance and I can't get financed is there anyway I can get my cash deposit back (I have a receipt) or do I chalk it up as a stupid tax on my part? Thanks for the advice

Ok, here's what I think. You agreed to put down a $300 unrefundable deposit down on a van while you work out the financing. There was an error with the Title. The seller took 2 weeks to get the correct Title. That's pretty quick. So, what's your beef? Get some financing and buy this van.

no beef Dave. The van won't book for what he is wanting for it. The intrest on the personal unsecured loan is 9%. I made a mistake and I've learned. Cash is king and screw the banksters
