I FOUND INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET THAT MY LANDLORD HAS TO TELL ME WHAT BANK AND ACCOUNT NUMBER MY DEPOSIT IS IN IF I ASK HIM. IS THIS TRUE? I HAVE ASKED HIM FOR THIS INFORMATION AND HE REFUSES TO TELL ME. ISNT IT MY RIGHT TO KNOW WHERE MY MONEY IS BEING HELD IF HE HAS NOT SPENT IT YET (I KNOW THAT IS AGAINST THE LAW)

Depends on Maine law. Find the exact provision requiring him to tell you where the trust account is and write him a letter quoting the law and asking him to comply. Send it certified/return receipt.

If he doesn't comply, contact the landlord/tenant assn for advice on how to proceed.
