Illegal Deposition??

undefinedWhat is the name of your state? Florida

My boyfriend is being sued by the landlord of where his former business was located. He has complied with all their requests and they want to file a judgement against him. He's fine with this as he will begin bankruptcy proceedings as soon as the judgement is filed.

The landlord's attorney has sent me a subpeona requesting that I appear during working hours and provide information regarding my boyfriend's financial status - ie- his bank statements, cancelled checks, tax returns, real estate holdings, etc. Being that we are not legally married, can they demand this information from me? I have already stated to them previously that I do NOT have access to his records - our finances are separate since we are not married- they insist that I have to go to this deposition.

Can you Please tell me if they have the legal right to demand such documentation from me. THANK YOU!!!

Hilda
