Who pays for one's time when subpoenaed?

My response:
The person who subpoenas you pays you pursuant to the Code requirements. In California, for example, you would be entitled to $35.00 plus 20 cents per mile of travel, both ways.
You are not entitled to any more money. That's it. If you lost a day's pay, then you lost a day's pay.
