What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

What does Dereliction of duty mean? I know what Google says it is but what does it mean in human terms? I was AWOL for for a period of time not to exceed 30 days. I got a voice mail from my CO saying that she wanted to talk to me about my Dereliction of Duty. I'm not sure what she is trying to do. What should I do?

Dereliction of duty is a specific offense under military law. Basically, it means avoidance of a duty or failure to follow an order from a superior.

So, what does it mean? Is my commander going to discharge me or is this her way of trying to get me to return to the military?

YA, i see what you are saying.. hahaha no i'm really not all that dense, i guess the word would be afraid. Just want to know what she is going to do to me when i return

The longer you remain AWOL the worse it is going to get. I recommend you return immediately before you experience regrettable life changing consequences. Nothing is important enough to allow yourself to become subject to the adverse effects that accompany the poor decision you have made. Just my two cents.
