What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Tennessee

Am I required by law to maintain my spouse as the beneficary on my life insurance policy provided by my employer?
We have been separated for a year and will have upcoming mediation hearings for martial dissoolution agreement. We have onea child that is 18 I am paying child support on until he graduate high school.

This is something you will need to discuss with your divorce attorney. The spouse may ask for it, but whether it is a legal requirement is another matter.

If it isn't in the order of dissolution, you can change your beneficiary to the "St. Gertrude Home for Wayward Housecats" if you want.
