The state is Hawaii, the charge is possession. I arrived at a freinds house 7 hours after it was raided. I was approuched by plain clothes officers and asked if I had any ID. I handed him my drivers lic, he looked at it and stuck it in his pocket. They asked me if I was there to buy dope, I replied "no". I stated I was there to look at a truck. There asked me if i had any dope in my bag (I had a bag strapped to the handle bars of my Harley), I replied "no". There asked me if they could search my bag, I replied "no". There was a moment of silence so I asked if I was free to go, they replied "no, we're going to bring to dog over to sniff your bike". The dog reacted to my bag, I was arrested and my Harley was seized. They found a straw with some meth residue, 4 empty stamp sized baggies and a clean pipe. I was released pending further investigation, my Harley is still in their possession. My question is did they have the right to detain me and/or have the dog sniff my bike just because I was at a house where drugs were sold?
