My 14 year old daughter was taken to a closed room at the school and questioned by two male school police. They demanded a confession on paper of an incident she knew nothing about. She was never informed of any rights to have a parent present, and was under the impression she had no choices but to stay and answer them. She was very frightened and insisted she knew nothing. They allowed her to return to class.
Can they detain anyone in a closed room with officers of the opposite sex, and demand written confessions?

I couldn't answer it since I don't know what state and or county this happened in. There is no one universal federal law for everything. You may want to speak with a local criminal defense attorney or a civil rights attorney. You can find one at attorneypages.
