What rights does a parent have when i have sole cust. What are the differences between joint and sole cust? Sorry they seem like the same thing, having a say in major things and events.Please correct me if i am wrong, i am alittle confused. Thanks

if yo uare talking about LEGAL custody, "joint" means all major child rearing decisions must be shared, sometimes final say goes to the parent with the physical custody, sometimes it will be left to a judge, it depends on the wording of the order.

NOT having sole custody though does not mean you have no access to childrens school and medical records, and do not have the right to petition to stop an out of state move, for example.
