Hi, I am a victim who married a con-artist almost three years ago as part of one of his many scams he worked on women around the country. I left the day after we got married, and haven't seen him since. Didn't file for an annulment, because I am in the military and was leaving CA for 8 months, and couldn't file in Texas because I wouldn't have enough time to file in that state once the 6 month requirement was met. Once back in CA,I went to an attorney, paid a $500 fee and his wife, who I am assuming is his legal assistant, prepared the paperwork for me. I tried to file the judgement and whatever else it is that you file when you go to court, and they told me the paperwork was incomplete. I have also had a problem serving my husband because he is in a federal prison and it is very hard to locate him, they said he is on "loan" to another agency to be prosecuted for another crime. It doesn't seem like this woman knows what she is doing. I just want to get this over with. Do I have to start over to get my divorce done by someone who knows what they are doing? and how do I serve him if I can't find him?
