My husband left me in 1996, in May a drunk driver hit me and took my leg off. In the meantime the Lawyer I retained was paid 5000.00 and did not help me at all. I fired him 2 years later when he asked me if I had recieved my injury settlement. I told my ex to draw up the papers because he would call me continually asking for a divorce. I received nothing from him. He went to court with his lawyer and finalized the divorce. When I got the final papers they said that I had abandoned him etc.... My question is, now that my health and sound mind is back after going thru 10 operations, does it make sense to retain a lawyer and go after him for any kind of money? He owns a business and apartment buildings.
