Are VA disability compensation benefits and SS disability income benefits considered "common property" in a marriage to which the opposing spouse can claim 50% (in the majority of states)?; or, is this income strictly "separate property" due to the fact that they are a form / derivation of prior "personal / physical injury" disallowing any right from opposing spouse?. Let us assume that the incident warranting these benefits was a severe back fall causing total, permanent disability. Thank you very much. James
