I don't see how that would be illegal. Who would be paying you to care for your child?

That's not a legal question.
Perhaps not, but "Can I care for my autistic child ang get paid for it so I dont have to leave him at home?" is. That's what OP asked at the beginning of this thread.

Essentially, s/he is asking what resources are available through the state to pay for the care of an autistic child and whether s/he would be able to provide that care and receive any applicable state funding.

I would suggest a Google search which will produce sites like:
California: Results | Autism Speaks

Then it may take a few phone calls.

Program availability is now questionable as recent state budget cuts have cut funding for programs that assist families with special needs including autism. Two families I know that receive 8-16 hours each week of state-funded assistance may lose all of it and it could force the families onto welfare as one parent or the other will have to quit their jobs to stay home with the child. It might also cut programs that pay for the specialized schooling that autistic children can attend even into adulthood.

The OP should definitely make those phone calls. But, there may not be resources available in a few months should she quit her job.
