Note: I tried to make an appt to speak with a tax specialists days ago, but none were available. I will have to file an extension if someone on here is unable to help.

I have a lump payout (SSA-1099), but a lot was for prior years paid this year, that puts me over the poverty limit for the ACA program (1095-A). That is causing me to pay the full penalty in excess of 5k, even though I used the LSE (Lump Sum Election). So I'm getting taxable income from prior years added to this return (which is fine & expected), but is that income assumed on those prior years then? The ACA is using the full lump sum? Doesn't seem fair, if I'm adding to prior years, increasing taxable income, yet for the ACA program it still looks at full lump sum.

Should I amend each prior year returns to split out the lump sum so I don't exceed this year's poverty level acceptance range?
-Or-
Does anyone know where in a typical tax return (I'm using TaxAct) and/or form line number, that amount can be adjusted?

Thanks in Advance :)

Yes, but it all was so vague, and I narrowed down my question. No one was helping me anymore, only saying go to a tax specialist. It's too late before the deadline, so was hoping since I learned alot and narrowed down my question, someone could help or see post.
