I am 100% disabled, when renting this apartment the landlady was well awre of this and know my limitations were no lifting, squatting, bending. The place that I moved into was a mess, after three weeks of cleaning the repairs that were ther she promised to fix, she did not resulting in my paying alot of extra money, which is difficult being that i live on 562.00 a month disability. After 8 months of begging for the repairs i followed legal aides advice withheld rent and contacyed code enforcemant. She was charged with 7 violations. When repairing them one was the refrigerator. she replaced a full size refridge with a 2foot/2foot plug in cooler with no freezer compartment that sits on the floor and that is unaccessable to me. I have filed charges with cival court for repayment of food that i had to throw away( ilive on 127.00 food per month) and the only way that that is possible is by buying bulk. I had no screens forcing me to use air conditioning 24hours a day to keep all insects and animals out of my house(it is an old conch house with one pane large windows) sho brought screens over that were rusted and had holes in them, plus a numerous amount of other things. Can i or would i recieve compensation for monies spent and has she broken the disabilitie act? My court date is for Januaruy 17 and being that i know nothing about the law i need help because there are no attorneys involved and i have to do this for myself.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!If all the facts and violations are needed i will teel all. Thanks Crickett
