In 1998 I purchased a 60 year old house in VA with no disclosues made regarding the foundation. The inspector I hired said the foundation showed settlement consistant with the age of the house so I went ahead with the purchase. One section of the basement had drywall up at the time, which I removed this year. Behind the drywall the block foundation was ready to collapse, with the blocks in the middle of the wall bowed out nearly 6 inches. The placement of the framing for the drywall made it clear that the wall was constructed over an already bowed foundation. If I could prove that the seller put up the wall, do I have a case against him for failing to disclose the defect? Thanks, Pk
