discovered dead trees after we closed

I live in Tennessee. We closed on our house about 8 months ago. The week afer we closed we found out that a 4 story tree in our front yard is dead. We called a tree removal service about it a few months later and they said that two others are dead as well (although they were alive when we moved in). Is it the builders responsibility to remove them?
