We are being sued in small claims court by a woman who worked for us and is claiming that she has "evidence" of an agreement that we promised her 10% of our company. Which is quite frankly ridiculous.
We, on the other hand, have two sets of edited, and one final, statement of work that clearly states her rate and a percentage of sales for a product she worked on (it was very specific, to her asking during the edit process, what products and how sales royalties would be calculated).
She's dragged us into court and has asked for a continuance, but even after several requests on our end, has produced absolutely nothing to substantiate her claim.
We've showed her all of the documentation we have -- and yet she still persists, without giving us any benefit of showing us any proof.
Is there anything we can do to force her hand instead of having to continually show up to court only to have it postponed again? This is costing us money to defend ourselves.
Is this just a case of harassment? What can we do?
