What is the name of your state?Ohio (This is a Federal Case).

Can anyone point me in the right direction on the proper way to draft a "Request for Production" of a document in posession of the defendant, in a Federal, Civil Suit?

Then, operating on the assumption that the defendant will not be cooperative, how to Compell the defendant to produce that document?

Especially as a pro se, there is no "proper" method. At a minimum though, you will want to include the caption, the Federal Rule under which you are requesting the discovery, and a specific list of the items being asked for.

If they don't comply, you may need to make a motion to compel, which, depending on the individual judge, may require a pre-motion conference (sometimes in person, sometimes via phone - call the court's clerk and ask what their procedure is. Do NOT make any motions without checking with them first).
