I HAVE WORKED FOR A VERY REPUTABLE COMPANY FOR 3 YEARS AND FOR THE LAST YEAR (OR LONGER) I HAVE BEEN REQUESTING TO HAVE EVERY SUNDAY OFF. POLICY STATES THAT ALL EMPLOIES MUST WORK 4 WEEKEND DAYS, SO TO COMPENSATE I OFFERED TO WORK EVERY SATURDAY IN EXCHANGE FOR THE CURRENT SCHEDULE (EVERY OTHER SATURDAY AND SUNDAY) THEIR SUGGESTION WAS TO LET ME WORK A SPLIT SHIFT TO ALLOW TIME FOR CHURCH IN THE MIDDLE OF MY DAY, OR TO ONLY WORK 1/2 SHIFT ON SUNDAY. NEITHER OF WHICH WORK CONSIDERING I HAVE A 45 MINUTE COMUTE TO AND FROM CHURCH & TO GET MY FULL 8 HOURS IN A SPLIT SHIFT I WOULD HAVE TO MISS PART OF CHURCH, AND WOULD HAVE AN EXTRA UNNECESSARY COMMUTE, AND THE OTHER OPTION IS TAKING 4 HOURS OFF MY PAYCHECK, WHICH IS NOT AN OPTION EITHER. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT 3 PEOPLE ON MY SAME SHIFT, UNDER THE SAME MANAGMENT WERE GIVEN ALL SUNDAYS OFF AS LONG AS THEY WORK EVERY SATURDAY.!!!!!!! WHERE CAN I GO WITH THIS. THESE PEOPLE ARE NEWLY HIRED EMPLOYEES, AND I HAVE BEEN THERE 3 YEARS. I CAN'T EVEN COUNT THE NUMBER OF TIMES I HAVE ASKED FOR THIS REQUEST. THEY KNOW IT IS FOR RELIGIOUS REASONS AND FOR THE FACT THAT SUNDAY'S ARE THE ONLY DAY DURRING THE WEEK THAT I CAN GUARENTEE THAT MY HUSBAND AND I WOULD HAVE HIS DAUGHTER WITH US...............ANY ADVICE WOULD BE A HELP!
