What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio. Are debt collectors allowed to discuss your account with anyone other than you, your spouse, or attorney? Where they personally verify who the debt is for, how much and the ssn of the account holder. If not allowed, what can be done?

They told my debt to my boyfriend. Who it was for, when it was from and the amount. Also the collector told him the last 4 of my ssn. No fdcpa

Third party collectors (i.e., collection agencies) are not supposed to let others know about the debt. However, that doesn't apply to the people you actually owe the money to (the original lender or anybody they assign the debt to).
