my roommate and i were just declined an apt b/c there is an eviction that she just found out about. she never received a notice for the eviction. in fact the date that it was filed was in 2001 however she was living in the same apt until 2003. now we can't get approved b/c of the eviction and we have to be out of the current apt in 1 month. how do we fix this fast so that we can move?! please help us out......What is the name of your state?

You can't "fix it". The eviction is on record and a LL has the right to reject an applicant due to prior eviction.

Why would they go thru the process of getting an eviction then allow her to stay in the apartment for another 2 years? Did they file and then drop it or what?
