i recently had a ceramic tile floor installed in my kitchen and dining room. the grout has cracked in several places, i have 2 very long cracks in the dining room, they go almost from front to back of the room. i also have a large crack in the grout between the dining room and kitchen. i have had another person look at it and was told the reason for the cracks is the installer put the grout line on the seamed sub floor, he did say the grout could be all dug out and the floor secured so it doesn't shift , this could alleviate the cracks. i have tried calling the installer to let him know about my problems, but he will not return my calls. should i send him a registered letter and do you feel this is worthy of a small claims court. thank you for any advise.

It certainly sounds like your complaints warrant sending him a certified RRR letter detailing your problems. Include what you want him to do to remedy the problems and a specific deadline for him to contact you to arrange the repairs.

Then, if he fails to respond, only you can determine whether further action "is worthy of a small claims court."
