In 1986 I was married for all of 3 months. I haven't seen or heard from her since then. I have been with my fiance now for over 10 years and we would like to make it official. Is there some process to dissolve the previous marriage or do I have to file for divorce? I have no idea where my intended ex has been or could be now so it would be next to impossible to serve any papers. Also, there was no property acquired by either of us during the 3 months.
