Hi,

We just got our visitation order from the court and I am very happy with it. (I live in CA by the way.) However, before the trial my ex always refused to drive my daughter to my house and I always had to drive down there. (15 miles). Sometimes she would drop her off at my parents' house which is 3 minutes away from her or at her parents' house which is 3 minutes away from her and I would have to drive down and pick her up. She claims she can't drive her up to me because she is sharing her car with her husband. I just want the driving time to be split in half as much as possible but she is not cooperating. Is there any way to solve this? ANy suggestions or similar experiences? What if I ask her to drive my daughter to me when it's my time and she refuses. If I don't drive down there can she get in trouble for not bringing her to me on my time? or would I be in trouble for not driving down there to pick her up?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Read your visitation order

The answer you are looking for should be in your court order. Most times the non custodial parent is responsible for picking up their child. If you are not sure ask your attorney. Be sure if the court order says you are supposed to pick up your child and you miss visitation because you refuse to pick him or her up you could risk losing visitation entirely.
