Tennessee. in a divorce settlement where the proceeds on the marital residense are to be split, is my X entitled to the princible i've put into the home since she abandoned it 15 months ago? she has contributed nothing to it during this time. its only about 1500.00 before division so it may not be worth fighting over except in principle.

My response:

Nothing good ever comes out of "principle" fights. So what? You feel vindicated, but at what cost? The financial strain, and the emotional stress, is hardly worth the effort, especially over $1,500.00. You'll spend that much just trying to keep it.

In summary, it's not worth discussing, in more ways than one. Move on with your life.

Good luck to you.
