Ok here it goes... my fiance has been separated from his current wife for 16 years and when they separated they sold the family home split the difference and she kept both cars. Then he paid her 600.00 a week for 4 years until thier only child graduated from highschool so she could stay home and take care of him. Now my fiance had filed for divorce and she recieved the papers yesterday. we are hoping that she will comply and sign them without a contest. The attorney said since they had been separated for over a year and thier were no marital assets so to speak she doesn't have anything to contest but we feel she may just to hold up the divorce. What would be her chances of dragging this out for along period of time? They have had no contact with each other in over a year. She is now employed and makes 36 grand a year and has no living expenses so to speak as she resides with her parents and they pay the bills. On the other hand we have 5 kids and he is the sole support of the household. What are her legal alternatives to holding this process up? we live in Ohio. thanks mom to 5 kids
