my name is pat and i live in new mexico. three and 1/2 years ago my husband of 18 years filed for divorce on the grounds of incompatability. i have two daughters ages 20 and 16. i could not afford my own legal assistance at the time of the divorce so out of stupidity i signed the divorce
decree the way that he arranged it. by the decree i have until december of this year 2001 to sell our home or take over the payments, which on my salary is not possible. my question is this: being that i have a 16 year old minor living with me at home do i have a case/chance of being entitled to at least two more years in our home, until she turns 18? two more years would allow me more time to establish myself and hopefully be able to refinance my home for myself. presently my ex-husband and i are each paying 1/2 the mortgage payment and he pays the taxes and insurance on the home. if i were to take him to court again would i stand a chance of keeping my home for another two years with him continuing to help me with the mortgage payment?
