I live in Illinois and getting divorced. I got hurt at work March 20th 2000. My wife filed for divorce December 1st 2000. My question is she entitled to any part of the future settlement? My attorney tells me that this is considered marital property in Illinois.

Majorsky formula

Ask your lawyer if this formula applies here. If it does then she gets her share of the monies obtained while you were married. Now if you worked 19 years and got married in the 20th, there is a chance there could be a reduction.
