I am in the midst of a divorce, and I feel that my attorney is not representing my best interests, he isn't providing me with enough information about the case proceedings, and I would like to know what my rights are as a client.

You have the right to fire him and hire a different attorney. You MAY receive back unspent amounts from your retainer (check your documents).

You could also sit down and talk with him and express your concerns.

Cut your losses. If your interests are not being addressed then you should be concerned. Time is costly, and time wasted can harm your case.

if you should discharge the attorney and seek new counsel, if you can afford to take your time interviewing attorneys then do so. I find a lot of them say what they think/know you want to hear at the door but in court it's a different ball game...the seem to be conflicted.
