My ex is supposed to pay 1/2 of our daughter's medical bills and has refused. I don't have money to take home m back to court.

Some areas have legal clinics for civil actions. You might ask at your local courthouse if they have any information for such assistance. You can inquire at a local law school if you have any in your area. Otherwise it sounds like you need to learn how to deal with issues such as this pro se (on your own without an attorney)
 
If you do a little internet research, you may find that filing a contempt motion on your own is actually quite easy and inexpensive. File your paperwork, have him served then show up at court at the designated date and time. Explain to the judge what's going on and show any proof you may have. That's pretty much all there is to it.
