My husband of 12 yrs moved out 7 mos. ago. I have 3 kids, mortgage, van, bills, etc. We are attempting a dissolution but cannot agree. During the marriage I worked as a medical transcriptionist at home but cannot make it on this income now. I applied for grants and am now in college full time to become a nurse maintaining a 4.0. My husb. wants me to refinance the house and get his name off the loan. I cant...income will not support it. My lawer says it will probably have to go to divorce and be up to the judge. I offered to refinance in 2yrs after I graduated and obtained a full time job but he will not agree. Is this solely up the the judge or are there actual laws protecting me? If he orders us to sell I will have to move my kids into low income apartments. My dad sold us the house cheap and my husb. family is employed by our small town court system (nepitisim - Ohio). Ultimately, I would like to drag this out for 2yrs, stay legally married in my house, receive support for my kids, etc... Can I do this legally? Thank you in advance.
