I am from Pennsylvania. My sister is getting divorced and is currently separated from her husband. They have a restaurant in both their names. She would like to extricate herself from the restaurant altogether. I heard that she can simply publish a statement in the newspaper, "I, so-and-so, relinquish all rights and ownership of the property __________ located at __________." Then she can send copies of the published statement to the creditors, and voila, her name's off the mortgage. Is this true?
