I'm currently living overseas and am not quite sure what to do about getting separated and then divorced. My husband lives with me now and would most likely need to go back to the US if we physically separated. What are my options as far as filing for divorce? ie, Do I need to file in the US, or can I file here? Also, if a 'no-fault' situation is declared, will a period of separation be required to divorce?

Thanks for your help.

You can file for divorce in the country you are in.. but you will need to adhear to the divorce laws of that country... or, you can return to the US (or just your husband) and then file in the US once you have met the residency requirements of the state.
