I have been married for nineteen years to my husband. We have two kids ages 21 and 17. I lived with my husband for two years before we got married. It has been an unhappy marriage for most of these 19 years. I now want a divorce. I only stayed so long for the sake of my kids. Over the years I was a stay at home mom raising the kids. When they got a little older I got part time jobs but they didn't last because of the demand of things at home. My husband has a savings account and many mutual funds and 401 where he works. Also I was diagnosed with melanoma 14 months ago and cannot get medical insurance on my own.
What am I entitled to if I get divorced. My husband is also an alcoholic for many years Had three DUI's during my time with him. Am I entitled to half of the 401 and mutual funds?What about alimony and child support. Both kids are still in school. The 21 year old is in her third year of college. Also will I be able to stay on his health insurance. I must have medical coverage because of the cancer. Thank you. I also live in NJ
