This is in Arizona.
My nephew married in '02. He was out on bail at the time and was subsequently sentenced to 7 years in '04. His wife, Jamie, was not around much after about '03. They had no children (thank God). We hardly ever see her and don't even know where she is right now. However, she has not divorced him and so on paper, they are still married.
Is there any legal drawback for him to just leave the marriage as is? He doesn't really have money or much access to courts to divorce her and he isn't bothering with it. He thinks it doesn't matter. I'm a bit concerned about what her actions might do though. If she racks up debts or has a baby or something like that, could he be held responsible financially for them?
