My brother currently lives in Maryland, but has a wife in California. They have lived in seperate houses since 1993, what kind of divorce can he get? She also has a baby by another man, is my brother responsible since she gave birth during their marriage? One last question, is there any way to find out if she has already divorced him? They don't know where each other lives and can't contact one another.

MY ANSWER : A good one.

MY ANSWER : No, they had to be living under the same roof when the child was born.

MY ANSWER : Yes, have an Attorney Service (the same people that do "process serving) in California run a Statewide records check of the courts. It will cost, but no where near the cost of a divorce if one has already been accomplished. If there is one, then have the Attorney Service make a copy of the entire court file, including the final decree of divorce, and mail it to you.
