I live in Georgia and I am filing my own divorce. My husband and I agree on everything and it is all mutual. Do I have to draw up a complaint for divorce or can I just file the divorce agreement? And if I have to file a copmplaint along with the agreement, can it be together or on seperate sheets?

My response:

From the type of questions you are asking, you would definately benefit by going to one of the larger bookstores and, in their legal section, pick up and buy a book on the subject of filing your own divorce. The book will have step-by-step instructions, and examples so that you can see what the papers should look like, along with filing instructions.

And, if even that is too intimidating, you may want to look in your Yellow Pages for a "Paralegal Service" to help you with your filing. A paralegal cannot give you legal advice, but they can prepare the paperwork properly, and file what is necessary with the court to get you going. Best of all, that type of service is comparatively inexpensive, as opposed to hiring an attorney. Check into it.

Good luck to you.
