This one is a little lenghty and complicated. First, I live in GA. I filed for divorce in '98, but my spouse never signed. I am having trouble finding a lawyer to take my case. My spouse and I have no civil communication at all. We have an eight year old together. There is a case open with MAXIMUS, to collect child support. Each time I call a lawyer, they ask if it is contested or non-contested. I can't tell. My spouse is so arrogant that I really can't find out. He refuses to obey the child support order, and never calls to check on our son. My son does see him, on occasion, because he lives in the same apartment complex, where my son visits my mother-in-law. I need some information on what to tell a lawyer to get them to take my case. When I go through and explain all of this, they act like I've told them that I have some infectious disease or something, and won't even give advice on what to do. Are all lawyers like this? Please tell me what to do to find someone sincere to take this case.
