I live in NY and am in the process of obtaining a divorce.
A stipulation of settlement has been signed by both parties.
The paperwork has been submitted as far as I know to the courts. My soon to be ex has told his two sons that he got married about a month ago and he is wearing a wedding ring and told co-workers he got married. I spoke with my lawyer and the final paperwork has not come back. If he has gottened married before the judge signed anything how does this affect the supposed re-marriage? The stipulation was signed 12-2000. And states he is required to file for the final divorce. I have nothing in writing that says we a divorced. I understand that the time it takes for the court to sign is about 4-5 months. Also, the woman he married had already had a last name change to my husbands about a year ago.

My response:

You can certainly go to the courthouse where the divorce was filed to see the court file, and to find out if, and when, a final decree of divorce was signed by the judge.

However, since his re-marriage has nothing whatever to do with you, and won't affect your divorce proceedings, then you shouldn't be concerned.

If he is a Bigamist, as you allude to, then that problem is between him and the State - - not you.
