What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana...My questions is: If I have no interest in dividing everything 50/50, can the courts make me...I think things would go smoother if I do not contest my husband, the "stuff" just doesn't mean anything to me.

No, you do not have to fight for a fair share of the marital property. However, you may come to regret that down the road if you do not.

Are you willing to take all the debt as well?

You don't have to contest a divorce to make sure that the "stuff" and the debts are split evenly.
