My response:

"Well, here's to you, Mrs. Robinson . . . "

Only if it's in the original contract, and the terms were negotiated between the parties prior to signing the agreement.

If there was no written agreement concerning interest, then no, you cannot charge interest "after the fact".

Are there more facts about your situation ?

There are really not a lot of facts concerning my situation. Actually its my husbands divorce. He just doesn't like to ask questions. He really got the shaft in his divorce because his ex wanted everything without paying for it. He still owes her money and she is really pushing the situation even though my husband doesn't have the money to give to her. I was just wondering if there was anything that we could do. We already have a lawyer but he never sounds very encouraging when it comes to this situation. But if there is someone out there who understands what we're going thru, that's great. It's tough somedays.
