In the state of California a husband, while separated from his wife, quits his job and draws down his retirement and spends the money. Is the wife entitled to receive any portion of his retirement in a divorce settlement? Can the husband be ordered to pay her in cash?

The husband is requesting to receive a share of the wife's retirement. Is it likely that the judge will deduct the portion that the wife was entitled to receive from the amount the husband is entiltled to receive from her?

Is it likely that a judge will order that neither spouse is entitled to the other's retirement, as they both have their own retirement plans?
