DMV sold my name and address

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

On 8/1/08 I went to DMV to renew my drivers license. I failed the eye exam. on 8/15/08 I receive junk mail from a local lasik doctor with my legal name on the address. I only use my legal name on my license and a couple other legal documents. So I know that DMV or someone there sold my name and address. Is this legal? Who could I contact to complain about this?

Your legal name is a matter of public record, NOT a secret.

BTW my vision is perfect, and I have recieved solicitations for lasiks...

What you describe is called coincidence.

And even if your lasiks DMV cabal existed (and I doubt it) it would still be legal.
