Bus Driver stops the bus and walks to a problem child and verbally abuses them then threatens the entire bus of children telling them not to tell thier parents as she has the names and adresses of every parent and student and that the complainer child will get it. Purposely pulls over so the children get to school late and miss breakfast, shortly after leaving the school grounds will pull over and tell the children they do not deserve to have the air conditioner on and turns it off ( during Aug. & Sept. it is over 100 degrees) . Today she announced to the bus that when her child acts up she puts his butt over a fire and that if the children did not believe her they could talk to her 18 yr old daughter who was used to being spanked and beaten. My children came home crying and they were not even the ones that got yelled at. They have fear of this driver and have begged me not to complain. The school principal wants to meet with myself and the bus driver tomarrow. Where do I stand with this? I can not allow this behavior to continue as it is clearly affecting elementary children.

Report it. It needs to be addressed. It is not a legal matter, however.

Children do have rights. They have the right to be safe and secure in their surroundings and they have the right to not be verbally abused. Talk with the parents of other children on that bus and, as moburkes said, report the behavior of the bus driver. With more than one complaint against the driver, the driver will be suspended until an investigation is completed. The safety of your child is too important to ignore the comments made by this bus driver.
