Do I have a case?

Okay Iwill try to make it short. I took my boat to a machanic and i told him to check it out and tell me what has to be done to get it on the water. Well they call me and tell me a quote they quoted me 1300.00, I debated about it but decided ok we will do it. Okay the day I was suppose to pick the boat up the mechanic calls and tell me oh i found something elese wrong it will be another 1000.00 or more. Well I flipped b/c 1300.00 was really out of my price range but i said I will manage now 2500.00 well that is entirely to much. I feel like it was all a ploy to get more money . now they want me to pay the 1300.00 for nothing b/c the boat will not evenb run/ If he would have quoted me 2500. inthe beginnign i would have told him no thanks. So what to do now He wants be to pay 1300. fo rnothing . I mean what good is it if the boat can not run. What can I do ?Do I have a case?

They called today asking to get paid but I really feel like i was done wrong. There whole mission was to get more money out of me. What can i do? Help
