I am 18 in Colorado, and am considering small claims court. Basically, my ex signed a contract binding him to pay me $700 in Feb, and it is now Jul and he keeps putting it off. The catch is he is 17, i am 18. Can I sue his parents? There is no doubt i can prove i gave him the $$, but I don't know how to go about taking his parents to court or any of that - and there is no point in doing it if they pull the "you can't enter into a contact w/ a minor" thing. Will I ever see that money again?????
Somone help me please.

But he is a minor...

He is a minor and i was under the impression that his parnets were responsible for him until he is 18 - that includes being accountable for his law suites and having to be present....
What about my thinking is incorrect?

My response:

Your thinking, while seemingly logical, is incorrect under the law.
