I live in florida. I was planning on renting an apartment, but to make the expenses a little cheaper I decided to get a roomate this was someone I had already been friends with and she had been looking for an apartment as well. so we decided to become roomates we signed a 1 year lease both of our names were on the lease. 8 months into the lease my roomate just moved out one day while I was at work without notifying me this just so happen to be 4 days before the next months rent was due. she never called me or even tried to get in contact with me and I do not know where she is, but she took all her stuff the only thing she left was her bedroom furniture and never returned for it do I have the right to sell it? she even disconnected all the utilities that were in her name without telling me so i had to pay to reconnect these things when we had already paid a connection when we first moved in to the place. would I be able to get the money back for the connection fees? this was in february and to this day i still havent heard from her and I have not been able to reach her do i have a case in small claims? will i be able to get the money for her portion of the rent that she just left up to me to pay even though her name is also on the lease?
