I am renting an apartment and having trouble with my landlord. My front door goes into my daughters room, so there for I don't use that door, but it is still accessible in case of an emergency.I have signs on my door asking to use back door. I've told him while I'm renting the dwelling that I do not use the door. He insists to help himself and let people in the door.

But, this does sound a lot like the Winchester House in CA which would explain a lot!

Install a chain lock or a door club. As long as LL can get into the apartment when he needs to, he can't complain about not being able to use a particular door, and you're not doing any damage to the building. Wanting to ensure your daughter's safety in her bedroom is reasonable.
